Youth Impact Jeunesse is a large accredited and charitable organization that has distinguished itself as a leader in the delivery of residential and community outreach services for at-risk youth. With more than 300 dedicated staff, the agency strives to make a positive difference in the lives of youth and their families by providing support and teaching them helpful skills needed to succeed. Currently Youth Impact Jeunesse operates fifteen residential facilities in seven different communities across New Brunswick. It also offers several community outreach programs within the Greater Moncton area.

Transitional Housing is a program for Youth aged 16 to 20 who are homeless or potentially homeless. Youth can voluntarily access this independent living program to help stabilize and change their lives. Up to four males and four females can reside in this supported environment that offers them a chance to learn life skills and lead to greater self sufficiency.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who has experience and skills related to supporting at-risk youth in achieving goals and finding success in life.

This position reports to the Program Manager.

*Job Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to*

* Ability to accommodate work hours needed by the program.
* Promote and maintain a safe, non-judgmental, welcoming environment for youth while complying with the agency policies and procedures.
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with youth, families and other professionals associated with the program.
* Ensure the completion of all tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of the program including; activities, cleaning, errands, appointments.
* Ensure the safety, well being and basic needs of youth are met and communicated.
* Provide positive emotional support and counselling to youth.
* Support youth in skill acquisition and build on current skills in the areas of independent living skills, self-esteem, communication, emotional regulation, stress management, and other life skills.
* Properly manage group dynamics and manage crises.
* Ensuring proper implementation of admissions processes, goal achievement and discharge preparations.
* Complete and maintain documentation practices of the program.
* Act as a role model to the youth, staff and community.

* Demonstrate understanding and experience supporting at-risk youth
* Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills

* Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
* Strong relationship skills
* Positive stress management and self-care skills
* Skilled at preventing and resolving conflict amongst youth
* Past work experience in the field of youth care work is a strong asset
* Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset

*Educational Requirements*

* College diploma or minimum of two years University successfully completed in a Human Services related field.
