Truck and Trailer Mechanic

Topaz Transport Inc. is seeking an experienced *Truck Mechanic* to join our team in Truro. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of company trucks. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work with heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.

*Duties*

* Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
* Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brakes, transmissions, suspensions, and electrical systems
* Carry out routine services including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire work
* Identify safety issues and address them promptly
* Use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot problems accurately
* Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance
* Perform preventative maintenance to maximize fleet uptime
* Test drive vehicles after repairs to confirm functionality and safety

*Requirements*

* Proven experience as a Truck/Heavy-Duty Mechanic (fleet experience is an asset)
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines and truck systems
* Ability to use diagnostic equipment and repair tools
* Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and initiative
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Physical ability to handle heavy components and outdoor working conditions

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
